With this model, New Balance has made the traditional 997 shoe more streamlined and brought back influences from the 90s. The shoe has the thick sole, typical of the 90's. The sole is made of rubber and ensures that you can walk around comfortably all day long. The shoe also has a lace closure and of course the famous New Balance N on the side.

William J. Riley first got the idea for a footwear brand after noticing the way that a chicken keeps its balance, and thus New Balance was born in 1906. A chicken maintains its balance using the 3 points of its foot, and this is the model on which New Balance sneakers are based. Riley began by designing an insole that would provide more support for people with foot and back problems. Since then, the brand expanded into shoes and trainers, and has become one of the largest footwear fashion brands in the world.
